Design rich-text WhatsApp message templates with dynamic fields and media attachments, submit for Meta approval, organize by language and category, and track performance analytics. Templates are the foundation of all WhatsApp outbound communication in WAB2C.
WhatsApp requires all outbound business-initiated messages to use pre-approved templates. WAB2C provides a complete template management system that lets you create, submit, track, and optimize your templates.

| Component | Description | Required |
|---|---|---|
| Header | Text, image, document, or video displayed at the top | Optional |
| Body | Main message text with support for dynamic variables | Yes |
| Footer | Additional info or closing note at the bottom | Optional |
| Buttons | Reply buttons, call-to-action URLs, or phone number buttons | Optional |
Templates support dynamic variables (placeholders) that are personalized for each recipient when the message is sent. Variables are denoted using double curly braces or numbered placeholders.

Variable Usage: When sending campaigns or using bots, these variables are replaced with actual contact data using merge fields. The @ mention system lets you map variables to contact fields like first name, email, phone, and company. See the Campaign Manager guide for details on using merge fields.
All WhatsApp message templates must be approved by Meta before they can be used. WAB2C integrates directly with Meta WhatsApp Cloud API for seamless template submission and status tracking.
